The Rep is a 2012 documentary about three friends who decide to open a business, a Canadian theater in the heart of Toronto. The film follows the struggle of local theaters to find business and prosperity in the face of the fading popularity of local productions. The film examines the quickly failing business of small town plays and productions, and the wide spread impact this has on the once prosperous world of local theaters. The film takes a look at the financial struggles that come along with opening a local theater, as well as the stresses that come with it.
