Tik Tok is a 2016 Chinese action-thriller film directed by Li Jun and starring Wallace Chung, Lee Jung-jae, and Yueting Lang. The movie is about a police officer who is in pursuit of a serial killer who has returned after a decade-long hiatus. The film starts with a family of four being held hostage by a masked man in a remote location. The captor forces the father to choose between the life of his wife or his two children. When the father fails to make a choice, the masked man shoots all four of them dead. The killer, known as the "Painter," disappears after the brutal murder, leaving no trace behind.

Ten years later, the Painter resurfaces and kills again. Police officer Huang Zhifa (Wallace Chung) is assigned to the case and begins tracking down the killer, with the help of renowned criminal profiler Song Yang (Lee Jung-jae) and hacker-turned-journalist Ling (Yueting Lang). But as the investigation deepens, they discover that the Painter has actually been planning his revenge against Huang for a long time, and that his endgame involves more murders.

The movie has a fast-paced action sequence with a few twists and turns that take the audience on an adrenaline-pumping ride. The director maintains the tension throughout the film and keeps the audience engaged. The acting performances of the three leads elevate the movie beyond just another police procedural show. Wallace Chung, as Huang, delivers a solid performance that showcases his range as an actor. Lee Jung-jae, as Song, brings complexity to his character and provides a fresh perspective on the typical profiler trope. Yueting Lang, as Ling, is a standout performer and brings wit and humor to the movie.

The chemistry between the three lead actors is also impressive, and their interactions are entertaining to watch. At times, the film falls into a cliche of the genre, such as having the hacker work her magic to help out the police. However, the film makes up for it with a few exciting setpieces, showcasing the Painter's cunning and resourcefulness.

Tik Tok is also visually stunning, with the cinematography being a highlight of the movie. The scenes range from gritty cityscapes to neon-lit clubs to abandoned industrial areas, all captured beautifully with a lot of style. The soundtrack also adds to the movie's atmosphere, with the electronic beats complementing the chase sequences.

In summary, Tik Tok is a must-watch for action-thriller fans, with its engaging storyline, impressive performances, and great visuals. The film packs in a lot of twists and turns, with each revelation taking the audience further down the rabbit hole. The final act of the movie is especially satisfying, with an action-packed finale that wraps up the story neatly. Overall, the film is a thrilling ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
