Top Star is a South Korean drama film that was released in 2013. The movie follows the life of Tae-Sik, played by Tae-woong Eom, a struggling actor who has been in the industry for over a decade. Despite his long career, Tae-Sik has never been able to hit the big time and has been relegated to taking small roles in low-budget movies and TV dramas.

One day, Tae-Sik gets a call from an old acquaintance who tells him that there is an opening for the lead role in a new blockbuster movie. The catch is that the movie is being directed by a young and temperamental director who is notorious for being difficult to work with. Despite the warning, Tae-Sik decides to take the risk and auditions for the role.

To his surprise, Tae-Sik lands the lead role and begins shooting the movie. However, he quickly realizes that working with the director, Won Joon, played by Min-Joon Kim, is going to be a lot harder than he thought. Won Joon is demanding and never seems satisfied with Tae-Sik's performance. He is constantly berating him and pushing him to the brink of exhaustion.

As the shoots go on, tensions rise between Tae-Sik and Won Joon. Tae-Sik is determined to give it his all and prove to everyone that he is a top star, but he begins to struggle with the pressure and the extreme demands that are being placed on him. He starts to question whether he has what it takes to be a lead actor and worries that he will never be able to make it in the industry.

One day, Tae-Sik meets a young woman named Hye-ri, played by Yi-hyeon So, who is just starting out as an actress. Hye-ri admires Tae-Sik's talent and looks up to him as a mentor. As they spend more time together, Tae-Sik begins to realize that he has been so focused on himself and his career that he has neglected the people who truly matter in his life.

Throughout the film, Tae-Sik is forced to confront his own insecurities and wrestles with the question of what it really means to be a top star. Along the way, he learns some valuable lessons about life, love, and the price of fame.

Overall, Top Star is an engaging and heartfelt movie that provides a poignant look at the world of acting and the challenges that come with pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. The film is filled with great performances, particularly from Tae-woong Eom and Min-Joon Kim, who both bring a depth and nuance to their respective roles. Whether you're a fan of Korean cinema or just looking for a compelling story, Top Star is definitely worth watching.
