Trained to Kill is a 1989 action-thriller movie directed by Neal Sundstrom and written by Steve DiMarco, who also produced it. The film stars Frank Zagarino as a former soldier, now working as a hitman for hire, who must protect a young girl and her mother from a deadly gang of criminals. The movie also features Glen Eaton and Lisa Aliff in supporting roles.

The film begins by introducing us to our protagonist, a skilled ex-soldier named Nick McBride (Frank Zagarino), who now works as a hitman. He is hired by a wealthy businessman, Mr. Green (played by Charles Napier) to take care of an informant who is about to testify against Mr. Green in court. McBride successfully takes out the informant, but little does he know that the mafia is after him now.

Meanwhile, there is a woman named Laura (Lisa Aliff), who has been on the run from the mafia for years. She has a young daughter named Christy (played by Nicole Hansen), and they are constantly moving and changing identities to evade their pursuers. In a twist of fate, McBride becomes their next-door neighbor, and Christy forms a bond with him.

However, the mafia has not given up on their quest to eliminate Laura and Christy. They hire a group of mercenaries led by a man named Kasajian (Glen Eaton) to track them down. Kasajian and his team are highly trained and resourceful, and they cause havoc wherever they go.

As the story progresses, McBride's past catches up with him, and he realizes that he must protect Laura and Christy at all costs. He must use all his skills and experience as a soldier and hitman to keep them safe from the ruthless Kasajian and his team.

Trained to Kill is a classic action movie that delivers plenty of thrilling action sequences, gunfights, car chases, and explosions. The film's strength lies in its exciting and suspenseful plot, which keeps the audience hooked until the very end.

One of the standout performances in the movie is Frank Zagarino as Nick McBride. He portrays McBride as a tough and gritty anti-hero who must redeem himself by protecting Laura and Christy. Zagarino's physicality and screen presence make him a believable action star, and he handles the film's action scenes with skill and finesse.

Glen Eaton also gives an excellent performance as the villainous Kasajian. He plays the role with a cold and calculated demeanor, making him a menacing presence on screen. The other supporting actors, including Lisa Aliff and Charles Napier, also do a fine job in their respective roles.

The movie's action sequences are well choreographed and executed, with plenty of explosions and gunfire. The car chase scenes, in particular, are well shot and thrilling, keeping the audience at the edge of their seats.

On the downside, the film's plot is somewhat predictable, with many of the twists and turns having been done before in similar movies. Some of the dialogues also come across as cheesy and cliched.

Overall, Trained to Kill is an enjoyable action movie that fans of the genre will find entertaining. Frank Zagarino's performance as Nick McBride is one of the movie's highlights, and the action scenes are well executed. While it may not be a groundbreaking movie, it delivers enough thrills and excitement to make it worth a watch.
