The basic concept of the movie, Upside Down, is that a man has been kept away from the love of his life. In order to start the movie, Adam tells the story of his planet. His planet is different than other planets because it has dual gravity. Adam now has to fight to be reunited with Eden. There are laws that keep him away from her; his world cannot be around her world. Due to the laws that were passed, their lives cannot collide with each other. Adam has to risk his life to access the world of affluence; it's a world that exists above him. When he tries to access Eden's world, he gets pulled back to his world. The gravitational pull forces him to go back to his world every time he tries to leave it. Despite the dangers, Adam decides to try to find his true love. The two respective planets exist side by side, and there are three rules on the planet. The first rule is that matter gets pulled by gravity of the world that it comes from. There is another law that matter is off set from the opposite world; it's inverse matter. The third law is that matter that comes in contact with each other will eventually burn. The two worlds have been separated from each other for a long time. The people from the upper world is rich, but the people in the lower world is poor. The upper level buys cheap oil from the down level, and the up level sells electricity back to the lower levels at cheap prices. People from the upper level are not able to communicate with people from the lower level, and vice versa. If people from the lower level decides to talk to someone from the upper level, it can be punished by incarnation or death. The only people can talk to both worlds is "TransWorld;" it's found in the majestic building structure.
