War Is Hell

The film is set in the Pacific theater during World War II. It follows a group of American soldiers who are tasked with fighting the Japanese on a series of islands. The team travel by landing craft, and upon landing are tasked with capturing a machine gun nest located in the island's interior. They are led by Mulligan, a war-weary fighter who just wants to keep his men alive. One of the soldiers, Fitzroy, is in charge of operating the flamethrower. He expresses that he has trouble with the ethical implications of their work. The film features realistic war violence.
