A Taste of South Africa is a culinary travel show from MagellanTV that is hosted by chef and television presenter Matt Tebbutt. This five-episode series takes viewers on a journey through the beautiful and diverse country of South Africa, exploring its unique cuisine and culture along the way.

The first episode of A Taste of South Africa begins in Cape Town, where Tebbutt visits the famous Victoria and Alfred Waterfront to sample some of the freshest seafood the city has to offer. He also visits a local farmer's market to learn about the different fruits and vegetables that are grown in the region, and how they are used in traditional South African dishes like bobotie, a savory meat pie.

In the second episode, Tebbutt travels to the city of Johannesburg to explore the vibrant food scene of Soweto, one of the largest townships in South Africa. Here, he learns about the history and culture of the African people who live in this area, and how their food reflects their traditions and way of life. He also visits a local brewery to try some of the unique craft beers that are produced in the region.

The third episode takes viewers to the province of Mpumalanga, where Tebbutt visits a wildlife reserve to get up close and personal with some of Africa's most iconic animals, like elephants, lions, and giraffes. He also meets with local farmers to learn about the different crops that are grown in this area, including macadamia nuts and citrus fruits. Tebbutt uses these ingredients to prepare a delicious citrus and macadamia salad, as well as a grilled ribeye steak with a zesty citrus marinade.

The fourth episode of A Taste of South Africa explores the lush coastal province of KwaZulu-Natal, known for its beautiful beaches and rich Zulu heritage. Tebbutt visits a local Zulu village to learn about their traditional way of life, and how they prepare one of South Africa's most famous dishes, braai. He also gets his hands dirty in the kitchen, preparing a succulent oxtail stew and a spicy grilled prawn dish.

The final episode of the series takes viewers to the stunning city of Cape Agulhas, located at the southernmost tip of South Africa. Tebbutt explores the rugged coastline, learning about the different seafood that is caught in these waters, including mussels, crayfish, and abalone. He also prepares a delicious seafood platter, with a variety of grilled and fried seafood and a tangy herb butter.
