Brotherhood Outdoors Season 6 Episode 7 Iowa Pheasant with Wess Ringgold
- January 1, 2014
Brotherhood Outdoors is an outdoor adventure television series that follows the stories of Union sportsmen and women across the country. In season six, episode seven, the show takes us on a thrilling journey with Wess Ringgold as he hunts for pheasants in the rolling landscapes of Iowa.
Wess Ringgold is a proud union worker and member of the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers (SMART). For him, hunting is more than just a hobby - it's a way of connecting with nature, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing after a long day. When he's not working as a sheet metal worker in Chicago, he can be found exploring the great outdoors, chasing after game with his trusty hunting dogs.
In this episode, we get a glimpse into Wess's life as he travels to Iowa for a pheasant hunt. He's joined by his friend and fellow union member, Corey Bush. The two men are excited to spend some quality time together, away from their busy work schedules and the stresses of everyday life.
The landscape in Iowa is stunning, with golden fields stretching out to the horizon and colorful trees lining the roads. Wess and Corey meet up with their hunting guide, Randy Plum from Plum Creek Guide Service. Randy is a friendly and experienced hunter who knows the terrain like the back of his hand. He takes them to a private property where pheasants are plentiful.
Wess is a seasoned hunter, but he's never hunted pheasants in Iowa before. Randy teaches him some techniques for flushing out the birds and how to work with his hunting dogs to track them down. Wess is impressed with how well-trained Randy's dogs are, and how skillfully they navigate the fields. He takes some time to bond with the dogs, giving them treats and playing with them between hunts.
As the sun rises higher in the sky, the temperature starts to rise as well. Wess and Corey are sweating under their hunting gear, but their spirits are high. They manage to bag a few pheasants in the morning, before breaking for lunch. Randy takes them to a local diner, where they enjoy some hot coffee and a hearty meal.
After refueling, they head back to the fields for an afternoon hunt. Wess and Corey are feeling more confident now, having gotten the hang of the terrain and the hunting techniques. They work as a team, taking turns flushing out the birds and taking shots. Randy's dogs prove to be invaluable, sniffing out pheasants hidden in the tall grass and bringing them back to the hunters.
As the day draws to a close, Wess and Corey reflect on their experience. They're grateful for the opportunity to hunt in Iowa, and for the friendship they share. They talk about their families, their union work, and their plans for the future. Hunting has brought them closer together, strengthening their bond both as friends and as union members.
The episode ends with Wess and Corey saying their goodbyes to Randy and his dogs. They pack up their gear and head back to Chicago, feeling rejuvenated and inspired by their adventure in Iowa. Brotherhood Outdoors season six, episode seven is a heartwarming and thrilling journey through the landscapes of Iowa, as seen through the eyes of two proud union hunters.
