Fearing for her cousin’s safety, she joins a group of women who are protesting outside the prison. However, her protests are cut short when she is arrested for her involvement.

Back at school, the girls struggle to focus on their studies with the distractions of teenage hormones and fear of the Troubles looming over them. Erin is particularly distracted by her crush on James, and Michelle teases her ruthlessly about it. Clare, on the other hand, is grappling with her own personal crisis as she comes to terms with her sexuality.

As the episode comes to a close, the girls head off to an exam with mixed feelings of nerves and optimism. They have come a long way since their rowdy days at the library, and have learned to find a sense of solidarity and support in each other.
