Mamoru's boss requests that Mamoru to go back to the other supermarket branch along with Yoichiro. The troubled Mamoru ends up taking his anger out on Samon and the rest of his family. He leaves the house to ponder, and as he walked along the river, he runs into someone unexpected.

11. Those Who Protect

Mamoru had finally decided to build a good relationship with Samon and welcome him as a member of the family. He takes Samon to a local dog run, but they are laughed at and ridiculed by the other owners as they struggled. They go to a dog cafe afterwards, where they happen to find another of the dog owners from the run.

10. Those Who Avoid a Fight

Mamoru had forgotten to keep his promise to Moeko of video calling her. Just as Mamoru is about to leave for a company meeting, Moeko comes along with her dog, Kabu, and leaves him with Mamoru as punishment. Unable to leave, Mamoru stays home and introduces Kabu to Samon. The dogs don't seem to get along, so he decides to take them to a local pet shop he goes to regularly.

Mamoru makes plans to attend a dog training school. Wanting it to be a surprise to his family, he keeps his intentions hidden from them. At the school, all of the other dogs and their owners seem to be making steady improvements while Mamoru and Samon seem to be going nowhere. Are they really just incompatible?

Mamoru gets the feeling that ever since Samon's arrival, his family has been falling apart. At work, Mamoru and his boss go to inspect one of the other supermarket branches with a bad reputation. The store is run by Yoichiro, the company chairman's son. Mamoru happens to spot a girl shoplifting dog food from the store, he follows her only to find her feeding a stray dog.

The rest of the family are out on Sunday and Mamoru has to spend an entire day with Samon. He tries to do what Moeko suggested, but nothing goes right. While he is outside sitting there hopelessly, he sees another hopeless looking man. Mamoru concludes that they must have similar feelings and decides to approach him in conversation.

After Mamoru finally returns, a new problem arises. Samon is getting bigger each day and is completely defiant to Mamoru. His other family members are busy with their own business, leaving Mamoru and Samon alone together. Moeko, who had just recently adopted a dog from the dog house, gives Mamoru some advice via video call on how to deal with Samon.

Mamoru successfully solves the dog house problem and decides to go back to the main branch. Kaede is surprised, but Moeko, who was finally opening up to Mamoru, is shocked. Mamoru tells his family that he is coming back, and says that Samon needs to stay in the yard from now on. However, he has some unfinished business before returning to his family...

The owner of the dog house, Gekkou, ignores Mamoru and Moeko, not showing any signs of improvement. Moeko, who is used to dogs, gives Mamoru advice to overcome his fear of dogs. One day, the boss tells him that if he solves the dog house issue, he can go back to the main branch, where his family lives.

The only problem is... Mamoru can't stand dogs.
