Evil or Live is an anime series produced by Haoliners Animation League that explores the dark side of human behavior, particularly the addictive and destructive nature of modern technology. Among them are Xiao Lei, a tech-obsessed youth who is desperate for a new device to satisfy his addiction; Jian Hao, a quiet loner who seems to be hiding a dark secret; and Nana Fujita, a former idol who has been sent to the School by her agency to improve her image.

As they work together to survive in the School, Hibiki and his new friends begin to uncover the sinister conspiracy behind the institution's true purpose. They discover that the School is actually a laboratory for a new technology called the "S.marty system," which uses artificial intelligence to control human behavior. The students are unwitting test subjects for this system, which aims to create a new kind of society where free will is replaced by absolute obedience.

Hibiki and his friends are horrified by this revelation, and they decide to resist the School's brainwashing and fight against the system that seeks to control them. They form a resistance group called the "Scum's Wish," and begin using their diverse skills to hack into the S.marty system and disrupt its operations. However, they soon learn that their actions have consequences, as the School's administrators and their own fellow students will stop at nothing to maintain their power and control.

The series deals with important themes such as addiction, authoritarianism, and the ethical implications of artificial intelligence. It portrays the dangers of a society that places too much emphasis on technological advancement at the expense of human needs and individuality. The characters are fully developed and the plot moves at a brisk pace, with enough twists and turns to keep the audience engaged.

After her parents died, Shiori and her little brother Shu were adopted by a friend of her father. Soon after, Shu was hospitalized with a hereditary disease, and Shiori was sent to the school as punishment for fighting against her uncle's abuse. Hyo shows up, Hibiki needs to work with Hyo if he wants to be the top of all students.

Hibiki is curious about why Shin isn't shown up, after his defeat of Yoh. Shiori, also wondering why they haven't seen Shin for a while, they going to asks Akane and Hoku about it. Meanwhile, a mystery man Hyo arrives at the school on the order of Shin's older brother, he beats Shian, and declares that he'll be replaced Shian.

Hibiki, having been released from solitary confinement, returns to the school with a new mission. Instead of being a puppet of Shine, he proposes a way to work with the Hoku, Shiori, and Akane. Soon, the girls' class is challenging the newcomer boys.

As a former drug investigator, Shian once watched his entire team die as the result of his cowardice. As the sole survivor, Shian felt guilty and self-blame, he wanted to help the wife and children of his old partner Kai, but what he found instead was a broken family. Meanwhile, Hibiki is locked away in solitary confinement.

Seeking the cell phones that Wudo was smuggling, Akane and her team threaten Hibiki, the one who caused his downfall. Shin appears, then runs with Hibiki to the boys' bathroom. When the girls follow, they caught into a trap. Hibiki stuck between them, and he has to make a choice.

Hibiki decided to serve Shin in order to change the situation. The first order is he need to replace Wudo, the discipline officer. Hibiki successfully trapped Wudo, and obtained support from Shian. The darkness is far more than he knows,Hibiki has to seeking help from his classmates. Meanwhile, Shiori meets Akane and Hoku, who want to rule the school.

4. Walking a Thorny Path

In order to help his roommates, Hibiki resists Head Instructor Shian, but Shiori tells him to apologize. In the conflict, the cell phone Shiori's been hiding falls out of her pocket. Shiori lost her title of the student council and all the classmates will be punished for Hibiki's behaviors. With this unexpected situation, Hibiki feels helpless and finally makes up his mind.

Hibiki refuses to serve for Shin, and then he heads to his dorm room. He receives a warm welcome there from his roommates. But when they realize Hibiki had nothing to do with Shin, their attitudes change immediately. After the class began, the course was all twisted physical training and continuous corporal punishment.
