Grace and Frankie season 2 episode 6, titled "The Chicken," continues to explore the lives and relationships of the two women as they navigate their newly single lives in their twilight years.

The episode opens with Grace (Jane Fonda) and Frankie (Lily Tomlin) getting together to check on their new business venture, making and selling custom vibrators for seniors. However, the meeting is interrupted when Grace's granddaughter Sarah stops by unexpectedly. Sarah is upset because her parents are fighting and she needs a safe place to stay for a while.

As Grace and Frankie try to comfort Sarah, they learn that her parents' argument was about their chicken, who was apparently killed by their neighbor's dog. Sarah had become very attached to the chicken and is devastated by its death. Grace and Frankie decide to bury the chicken in their backyard and hold a small ceremony in its honor.

Meanwhile, Robert (Martin Sheen) is struggling to keep up with his new lifestyle as a single man. He confides in Sol (Sam Waterston) that he misses Grace and wishes they could try to work things out. Sol tries to reassure him, but it is clear that Robert is still not over Grace.

As the day goes on, Grace and Frankie try to cheer up Sarah by taking her to a yoga class. However, when they arrive, they realize it is a hot yoga class and Sarah is not prepared for the heat. In an attempt to cool her off, they decide to take her to the beach instead.

At the beach, Grace, Frankie, and Sarah have a heart-to-heart conversation about the challenges of growing older and dealing with loss. Sarah opens up about her recent breakup and Grace and Frankie share their own experiences with divorce and death.

Back at home, Robert shows up unexpectedly and asks to speak with Grace. He apologizes for everything he did wrong in their marriage and confesses that he still loves her. Grace is taken aback but ultimately decides to give him a chance.

In the final scene of the episode, Grace and Robert share a tender kiss as Frankie looks on, clearly upset by the turn of events. The two women have always been there for each other, but their friendship may be tested as Grace and Robert try to work things out.

Overall, "The Chicken" is a compelling episode that explores themes of loss, love, and friendship. The characters continue to develop in interesting and unexpected ways, making the audience invested in their stories and eager to see where they go next.
