Ep 5. The Bev Witch Project

In Hollywood Darlings season 1 episode 5 titled The Bev Witch Project, the three former child stars Jodie Sweetin, Christine Lakin, and Beverley Mitchell decide to make a short horror film for a film festival. After they draft a script, they realize they need to find a director and this leads them to a reunion with the father from their TV show, Step by Step. The father/director is played by guest star Patrick Duffy.

However, the reunion with Duffy brings back bad memories for Sweetin, Lakin, and Mitchell who recount how Duffy hated certain things about them during the filming of Step by Step. The three co-stars must navigate through their complicated childhood memories while filming their horror movie.

Additionally, Mitchell realizes that she's not good with blood and gore and has trouble being on position during shoot days. Meanwhile, Sweetin who is an experienced horror movie actress, helps the girls feel more natural in their roles.

As they are filming, a glitch in the equipment reveals a ghost in the film set which spooks the crew. They believe it is the ghost of Duffy's TV wife, played by Suzanne Somers, who they made fun of on set and this causes tensions to arise between the crew.

Eventually, the three ladies overcome their past and things settle down on set. The episode ends with the debut of their horror movie at the film festival with the cast, crew, fans, and the Step by Step co-stars in attendance.

The Bev Witch Project is a touching and humorous episode that explores the actors' past lives as child stars and the challenges they must overcome to pursue their dreams in the present.
