Kingdom (2019) Season 2 Episode 11

Kingdom (2019) Season 2 Episode 11 Assemblage

Assemblage, the eleventh episode of Kingdom's second season packs an emotional punch. The episode is an intense one-hour drama that focuses on the unfolding modern-day feudal war between two rival MMA gyms in Venice, California. The episode follows various characters as they deal with the aftermath of their actions in previous episodes, all leading up to the big fight night.

The episode starts with Alvey (Frank Grillo) waking up in his car after a night of drinking. He recalls the events of the previous day where he was seen drinking heavily at the gym. His daughter and lead fighter, Alicia (Natalie Martinez), confronts him about his drinking and he promises to stop drinking. He then heads to visit Nate (Nick Jonas) at the hospital, who is recovering from the injuries caused by his dad at the end of the previous episode. Alvey tries to make amends but Nate seems to have moved on, pointing out how Alvey has always been detached from his feelings.

Jay (Jonathan Tucker) and Ryan (Matt Lauria) are dealing with their own personal issues. Jay is still struggling with his heroin addiction, while Ryan is trying to save the relationship with his girlfriend and his unborn child. Meanwhile, Lisa (Kiele Sanchez) is dealing with the aftermath of her actions in the previous episode, where she blackmailed the gym to secure a fighter for fight night. Her relationship with Alvey seems to have taken a hit due to the revelation.

The episode moves on to the fight night where we see the culmination of the various storylines that have been building up throughout the season. The fights are intense and full of drama. The first fight is between Alicia and her opponent, the reigning champion. The fight is brutal and both fighters seem to be equally matched. The stakes are high for Alicia, as the fight holds the key to securing her position as the lead fighter at the gym. We also see the return of one of the fighters from the season's first episode, who we find has been hiding out in Mexico.

As the night progresses, the other fighters go at it. We see Jay taking on his opponent, despite his addiction issues, and Ryan fighting for his chance to prove himself to Lisa and the gym. Meanwhile, Alvey is struggling to keep his cool and is seen drinking at the bar during the fights. Lisa is seen trying to hold everything together and keeping the gym's reputation intact.

The episode culminates with a heart-wrenching scene where Alvey takes the ring to announce the winner of the fight night. As he starts to speak, he breaks down emotionally, and we are left wondering what the future holds for him and the gym.

Overall, Assemblage is a tense and emotional episode that packs a punch. The various storylines are brought together and we see the characters dealing with the consequences of their actions. The episode leaves us with questions about the future of the gym and the characters we have grown to love. The performances are top-notch as always, with Frank Grillo and Jonathan Tucker standing out. Kingdom continues to deliver quality television with its gripping drama and intense performances.
