Ep 7. Felling with Tree Routes

Danny Rand is a man with a mission. After being presumed dead for years, Rand returns to New York City to reclaim his family's company, Rand Enterprises, and also to take up his mantle as the Iron Fist. However, it's not all smooth sailing for the martial artist as he deals with the corruption within the company and fights against the Hand, a criminal organization that threatens the peace of the city. In episode 7 of Marvel's Iron Fist, entitled "Felling with Tree Routes," Danny finds himself struggling to keep up with his responsibilities and choices.

The episode sees Danny struggling with his own moral code and the choices he has to make. After having some concerns about the Hand's motives, Danny confides in Claire and Colleen about his plans to take down the organization. They are hesitant about his plans because of the risks involved, and they feel that Danny is not taking into account the bigger picture. Ward is keeping a close eye on his father, but he is going through his own personal issues in the episode. He is trying to detox from drugs and is struggling with the aftermath of his actions.

The title of the episode, "Felling with Tree Routes," is a reference to the practice of cutting down a tree by removing the branches around its trunk. This is a metaphor for Danny's struggle to understand the root of his issues with the Hand and to make the right choices. He realizes that there is a bigger picture involved, and this is something that his friends have been trying to convey to him for some time. Danny finally realizes that his feelings of betrayal and anger towards the Hand are not completely justified, and there may be some other factors at play.

The episode features some excellent fight scenes, as is usual for Marvel's Iron Fist. Danny's Iron Fist powers are showcased in all their glory when he goes up against some of the Hand's fighters. The choreography is impressive, and highlights Danny's unique fighting style, which is a mix of martial arts and mystical powers. The other characters get their fair share of action as well, with Colleen putting her katana skills to good use in a fight scene.

Overall, "Felling with Tree Routes" is a great episode that furthers the plot of Marvel's Iron Fist while also developing the character of Danny Rand. The title is fitting, and the metaphor of cutting down a tree is apt for the episode's themes. The actions of the characters seem to have some serious repercussions and set up the next few episodes nicely. The fight scenes are well done, and the episode keeps up the high bar of action that Marvel is known for. Fans of the show will definitely enjoy this episode.
