Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang have returned to Beacon, which has since become an evacuation center from the attack on Vale. The military is taking control of the city to organize a better defense. Beacon Academy is closed for the time being. Ozpin is still missing and his office is inaccessible.

At the same time, the students have been dealing with the aftermath of their battle against Salem's forces. Jaune is still saddened by Pyrrha's death and is eager to improve his combat techniques.
