Scout & The Gumboot Kids is an educational and interactive series aimed at children aged 3 to 6. Each episode follows Scout, a curious mouse, and his friends—the Gumboot Kids—as they explore the world around them and solve fun and exciting mysteries. In season 2, episode 25 titled "The Wooden Timekeeper," Scout and the Gumboot Kids investigate the mystery of a lost timekeeper.
The episode begins with Scout and the Gumboot Kids exploring a forest and playing hide-and-seek. The group decides to take a break and have a snack when Scout notices something strange. He points out a wooden tower in the distance that he's never seen before. The Gumboot Kids are curious too, so they decide to investigate.
When they arrive at the tower, they see that it's an old clock tower that has stopped ticking. They also notice that the clock's hands are missing, and there's a large hole where the wooden pendulum used to be. The Gumboot Kids wonder what could have happened to the timekeeper, so they start looking for clues.
As they explore the tower, they find a strange piece of wood with markings on it. Scout recognizes the piece of wood as part of the missing pendulum, and they deduce that the clock must have stopped ticking when it fell off. They decide to look for the rest of the pendulum to fix the clock.
The Gumboot Kids split up to search for the missing pieces. They discover other interesting things while doing so, including a nest of baby birds and a butterfly. They also find other pieces of the pendulum, which they pick up and bring back to the clock tower.
Finally, they have collected all the missing pieces and reattach the pendulum. The clock starts ticking again, and the Gumboot Kids are overjoyed. They decide to play a game of hide-and-seek again but this time, they use the newly fixed clock to time themselves. They're having a blast when Scout realizes that they've only got a few minutes left until it's time to go back home.
The Gumboot Kids decide to quickly investigate the clock tower one last time before saying goodbye. They discover a hidden door at the back of the clock, and decide to check it out. They enter the room and find an old trunk.
The trunk contains an old diary, a map, and a compass. The Gumboot Kids read the diary and learn that the trunk belongs to a man who used to be the keeper of the clock tower. He was an adventurer who used to explore the world, and one of his favorite places to visit was a secret waterfall nearby.
The Gumboot Kids decide to use the map and compass to find the secret waterfall. They follow the instructions and eventually come across the waterfall. They're amazed by its beauty, and decide to document their discovery by making a drawing in the diary.
As the episode comes to an end, Scout and the Gumboot Kids make their way back home. They've had a great day exploring the forest, fixing the clock tower, and discovering a secret waterfall. They realize that there's so much to explore in the world around them, and they can't wait to see what they'll discover next.
