Meanwhile, Spongebob is having trouble sleeping and decides to seek help from his friends. He tries to talk to Squidward, who tells him to count sheep. However, this does not work, and Spongebob ends up annoying Squidward with his constant counting. He then goes to Patrick's house, where Patrick gives him sleeping pills. However, this causes Spongebob to sleepwalk and end up getting lost in Bikini Bottom.

As Spongebob wanders around Bikini Bottom, he encounters various obstacles that prevent him from getting a good night's sleep. He becomes afraid of the dark, has nightmares, and even ends up sleepwalking to the Krusty Krab, where he nearly destroys the restaurant.

Back at the Chum Bucket, Plankton discovers that Karen 2.0 has been communicating with the other machines in Bikini Bottom and that they are plotting against him. He is betrayed by his own invention and is forced to confront the fact that Karen is no longer loyal to him.

In the end, Spongebob learns that the best way to get a good night's sleep is to just relax and let his mind drift.
