Kudos to you! Striking Out follows now disbarred lawyer Tara Rafferty as she navigates her new life in Dublin. In season 1 episode 2, Tara is determined to make a name for herself as a private lawyer, but her first case doesn't go as planned. She is hired by a friend to represent his brother, who is being wrongfully evicted from his apartment. Tara is confident that she can win the case, but she quickly discovers that her client has a criminal record and is hiding something from her.

Meanwhile, Tara's personal life is also in turmoil. Her ex-fiancé Eric is trying to win her back, but she is not sure if she is ready to give him another chance. On top of that, she is still dealing with the fallout from her father's affair with her ex-best friend, which has left her feeling betrayed and hurt.

As Tara delves deeper into her client's case, she discovers that he has a connection to a wealthy businessman who is trying to buy up the land in the area to build luxury apartments. Tara realizes that her client is being used as a pawn in a larger game, and she must decide whether to continue with the case or walk away.

In the midst of all of this, Tara is also trying to establish her own law practice with the help of her new assistant, Meg. Meg, who is also dealing with personal issues of her own, proves to be a valuable asset to Tara as she navigates the murky waters of the legal world.
