- 2 Seasons
In the dystopian fantasy series See, the human species has lost the ability to see. They've learned to survive without the sense. They've developed new ways to hunt and conduct their society. But their world turns upside down when young twins show themselves to have normal vision. A childless tribal chief takes it upon himself to protect the children after he marries their mother. The unusual twins capture the attention of the queen of a rival tribe. Their father was her favorite consort. And she wants to take his children for her own. She calls upon her radical followers to bring the children to her. The chieftain then must rally the forces of other allied tribes to his aid to stop the queen's plans. The series premiered on Apple TV+ in November 2019. It was one of the first original series on the new streaming platform. It was also one of the most high-profile of the platform's offerings. It received an award for outstanding visual effects from the Visual Effects Society Awards in January of 2020. Most of the show was shot in British Columbia. The eight-episode first season concluded at the end of 2019. A second season was ordered by Apple. No official release date for the second season has been announced. The new episodes are expected to hit the platform sometime before the end of 2020.
