Part 6 is divided into 3 segments: Indigenous Led Conservation, Forest Stewardship Council and The Way Forward. Practical solutions, including a push for more vigorous adoption of Indigenous stewardship, are proffered. What we do to the land, we do to ourselves. Embracing the ideal that we're all in this enterprise called life, together will help us find our way into a more hopeful future.

Part 5 is divided into 5 segments: Water, Biodiversity Loss, Disrespecting Mother Earth, Ancestors and Indigenous Knowledge. We see how water is also being impacted, how our way of disrespecting Mother Earth is destroying us and that our last best hope lies in embracing Indigenous Knowledge and the understanding that our relationship to the rest of creation must be repaired, before it's too late.

Part 4 is divided into 4 segments: Birds, Carbon, Climate Change and Toilet Paper. The number of birds and the amount of carbon stored in the boreal make it an existentially important ecosystem. We learn how our industrial practices, like logging, are exacerbating the climate crisis and what an obscenity it is to cut down these forests so we can wipe our bums with softer, more plush toilet paper.

Part 3 is divided into 3 segments: Treaties, Ceremony and Trees. The historic and current violation of treaties illustrates how governments have lied to Indigenous Peoples for centuries and how ceremony was and is what sustains them, how Indigenous ceremony is deeply rooted in an embrace of the vital relationship between people and the rest of creation, including the trees in the forests.

Part 2 is divided into 3 segments: Caribou, Innu Gathering and Colonization. As caribou, the indicator species, are extirpated from the boreal, the First Nations Peoples who have depended on the caribou see their way of life being destroyed. A clear link is drawn between unfettered, extractive, industrial exploitation and colonial violence.

Part 1 is divided into 3 segments: Introduction to the boreal forest and the First Nations who call the boreal home, the intrinsic nature of our interconnection to these forests and all of nature and what happens when we allow ourselves and our industrial practices to disconnect us from that fundamental understanding.
