The Mallorca Files Season 1 Episode 2 King of the Mountains

When a popular cyclist is found dead on the island of Mallorca, Miranda Blake (Elen Rhys) and Max Winter (Julian Looman) are called upon to investigate this suspicious looking case. As they start digging deeper into the victim's personal and professional life, they learn about his rivalry with another cycling team and how things had started getting ugly between them.

When the duo moves further with their investigation, they come across the victim's son who gives a major lead - a mysterious woman has been spotted around both his and his father's house. Their investigations lead them to a man named 'El Hombre', the winner of King of the Mountains competition, who was in rivalry with the deceased victim for a long time. They visit his training ground to get more information and bump into his daughter. Though they try to get some information out of her, she fobs them off with a lie.

As the case progresses, Miranda and Max's investigation leads them to discover that the victim had been taking drugs for his asthma, which is banned for professional cyclists. They speculate if it is possible that he could have been killed because he refused to continue doping. Meanwhile, they manage to track down the mysterious woman from the victim's house - and it turns out that she is the victim's estranged wife.

As they get closer to the truth, things get murkier and more dangerous, and the team is sucked deeper into the dark side of professional cycling. The trail takes them to the top of a mountain, which is a race track for the cycling tournament. In the thrilling climax, they finally unmask the killer, who surprisingly turns out to be connected to El Hombre, the winner of the competition.

In the end, the killer is brought to justice, and the peaceful island of Mallorca returns to its tranquil life. However, Miranda and Max realize that their work in Mallorca is far from done, and many more intriguing cases await them.
