Bound for Glory is the flagship event of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and on this evening, it took place at the Viejas Arena in San Diego, California. The card featured some of TNA's biggest stars, including AJ Styles, Bully Ray, Sting, and Jeff Hardy.
The opening match of the night saw the team of Eric Young and Joseph Park take on the duo of Christopher Daniels and Kazarian in a tag team bout. The action was fast-paced and entertaining, with both teams showing off their skills in the ring. Ultimately, Young and Park emerged victorious, much to the delight of the crowd.
Next up was a three-way match for the TNA X-Division Championship, pitting Chris Sabin against Samoa Joe and Austin Aries. The X-Division is known for its high-flying, acrobatic style, and this match did not disappoint. The three men went back and forth, hitting each other with impressive moves and near falls. In the end, it was Sabin who was able to eke out a win and retain his championship.
The third match of the night saw the Knockouts Championship up for grabs, as defending champ ODB took on Gail Kim and Brooke in a triple threat match. The ladies put on a hard-hitting contest, with each woman trying to outdo the other. In the end, it was Kim who was able to score the victory, winning her third Knockouts Championship.
The fourth match of the evening was a tag team match featuring James Storm and Gunner against the team of Hernandez and Chavo Guerrero Jr. There was a lot of history between these four men, with Storm and Hernandez having feuded in the past and Guerrero and Gunner having fought over the TNA Tag Team Championships. The match was a seesaw battle, with both teams getting their fair share of offense. In the end, it was Storm and Gunner who were able to secure the win and earn themselves a shot at the tag titles.
Next up was a singles match between Bobby Roode and Kurt Angle. These two men had a long-standing rivalry, and this match was no exception. They went back and forth, with each man trying to gain the upper hand. The match ended in controversial fashion when Angle was unable to continue and the referee stopped the match. Roode was declared the winner, but Angle was not happy with the outcome.
The main event of the evening featured Bully Ray defending the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against AJ Styles. Styles had been on a hot streak, and many fans were hoping he would be able to capture the title. The match was intense, with both men hitting each other with their signature moves. At one point, Styles hit his springboard 450 splash, but Bully Ray was able to kick out. In the end, it was Bully Ray who was able to score the victory and retain his championship.
Overall, Bound for Glory 2013 was an entertaining and action-packed show. Every match delivered in its own way, and the crowd was hot for the entire night. TNA should be proud of what they were able to accomplish with this event, and the fans in attendance and watching at home were surely left satisfied.
