This was the ninth season for this event, and it took place at the Impact Wrestling Zone in Orlando, Florida. The show featured some of the biggest names in TNA, as they battled it out in some of the most intense matches of the year.
The main event of the show was a three-way match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Bobby Roode, James Storm, and AJ Styles all vied for the championship belt in what was sure to be a thrilling match. Roode had held the championship for 88 days leading up to Turning Point, and he was determined to keep his title. However, both Storm and Styles were hungry for the championship, and they both put up a valiant effort in the match.
In addition to the main event, there were several other exciting matches on the card. One of these was a triple threat match for the TNA X-Division Championship. The reigning champion, Austin Aries, faced off against Kid Kash and Jesse Sorensen in what was sure to be a high-flying battle. Aries had held the championship for nearly five months by the time of Turning Point, but Kash and Sorensen were both eager to dethrone him and claim the belt for themselves.
Another notable match on the card was a tag team match pitting Jeff Hardy and Jeff Jarrett against Crimson and Matt Morgan. This match had been building for some time, as Hardy and Jarrett had been at odds with Crimson and Morgan for weeks leading up to Turning Point. There was a lot of bad blood between the two teams, and they were both determined to come out on top in this match.
Other matches on the card included a singles match between Rob Van Dam and Christopher Daniels, a tag team match featuring the team of Ink Inc. (Jesse Neal and Shannon Moore) against Mexican America (Hernandez and Anarquia), and a singles match between Velvet Sky and Gail Kim for the TNA Knockouts Championship.
