Ultraseven X is a 2007 sci-fi program from the Tokusatsu genre created by Tsuburaya Productions. The show is a sequel to the original Ultraseven series and takes place in an alternate universe. Ultraseven X features Eriku Yoza as Tsubasa Kazanari, who is the pilot of the iconic superhero Ultraseven X. Saki Kagami stars as her colleague Rina Azumi.

The plot of Ultraseven X follows Tsubasa Kazanari, a member of a scientific organization called "Neo Frontier Sciences," which was founded after the occurrence of mysterious events around the world that were beyond scientific explanation. Tsubasa is one of the elite pilots who operate powerful mecha machines called 'XIG Fighters' that are equipped with advanced technology such as a molecular cutter, shields, and particle beams. She is enlisted to serve as a pilot for the special forces dedicated to combating extraterrestrial threats, including giant monsters and alien invaders.

In the first episode, Tsubasa and her colleagues are investigating a strange anomaly when they encounter a massive alien monster called Eleking, who has arrived on Earth to wreak havoc. Tsubasa tries to neutralize the creature with her XIG Fighter machine, but her weapon is ineffective against it. Suddenly, Tsubasa's machine is heavily damaged, and she is forced to eject from the cockpit. However, she quickly remembers the Ultraseven X transformation device that she had been given by one of her professors, which enables her to transform into the legendary hero Ultraseven X. From there, Tsubasa fights against Eleking and other monsters that threaten to harm the Earth.

The series features various creatures from Ultraseven and other shows from the Tsuburaya Productions stable, along with new kaiju monsters and an amorphous alien race called the 'Giras Brothers'. The Giras Brothers are a mysterious extraterrestrial organization that is advancing a clandestine plan to take over Earth using the power of their 'Ultimate Energy'. The organization seeks to bring about a new world order by enslaving humanity and establishing their own empire on Earth. Tsubasa and her allies fight against the Giras Brothers to prevent their nefarious plans.

Throughout Ultraseven X, Tsubasa faces several personal and societal obstacles as a female pilot. Despite being highly skilled, Tsubasa must contend with sexist attitudes from some of her teammates who doubt her abilities. However, Tsubasa rises above these challenges and proves herself to be a capable and worthy superhero who can save the Earth from danger.

Much of the show's pacing is dedicated to battle scenes, with plenty of action and destruction scenes throughout each episode. Ultraseven X features special effects techniques that look quite similar to the older Ultraseven shows. The visual effects and style are reminiscent of a blend between practical and CGI effects, which make the show feel modern while retaining the charm of the classic Ultraseven series.
