Upright Ep. 4 follows the story of main character Lucky, who is still on his journey to deliver his deceased mother's piano across Australia. In this episode, Lucky finds himself in a small town where he meets a woman named Meg, who offers him a place to stay for the night. As the two get to know each other, Lucky is surprised to find out that Meg is a trans woman and struggles with understanding her experience.

Meanwhile, Meg's husband, a local police officer named Russell, is dealing with his own issues as he tries to cover up a mistake he made while on the job. When Lucky finds himself in trouble with Russell, the two worlds collide and Lucky is forced to confront his own biases and assumptions.

Throughout the episode, Lucky flashes back to memories of his mother and their complicated relationship. As he continues to grapple with his grief, Lucky begins to realize that he needs to confront his past if he wants to move forward.

Upright Ep. 4 weaves together themes of grief, acceptance, and understanding as the characters navigate their own personal struggles. With strong performances from the cast, particularly Tim Minchin as Lucky, the episode is a poignant reminder of the power of human connection and empathy.
