All the King's Men is an action thriller movie that was released in 2006. The film centers on the main character Jack Burden, who is the newspaper reporter assistant to the Governor who goes by the name of "Boss". Burden must deal with his boss's lust for power, his slow corruption from a simple lawyer, and the problems that come with holding political office. Burden must also resolve his long lasting love for the beautiful Anne Stanton, his relationship with Anne's brother Adam, and his unresolved feelings towards his true father the Judge.
All of the King's Men is based on the classic American Southern Gothic Preservation novel by the same name. It is also a remake of a film that was released in 1949. The character Jack Burden is played by Jude Law. Willie "The Boss" Stark is played by Sean Penn, and Anne Stanton is played by Kate Winslet. Judge Irwin, who is Jack's father, is played by Anthony Hopkins. The film was adapted from the novel written by Robert Penn Warren by Steven Zaillian, who also directed the film.
