BearCity 2: The Proposal is a romantic comedy film with a dash of drama which the second installment in the BearCity movie series. The film was written and directed by Doug Langway and first premiered on June 8, 2012, in the United States. The plot revolves around the lives of a group of gay friends in their early thirties. The group includes Brent (Joe Conti), a big-hearted bear with a love for older men, Fred (Brian Keane), a documentary filmmaker with a tendency to date young twinks, and Michael (Gregory Gunter), an actor who is struggling to find work. In the previous film, Brent and Fred got together and started a relationship, and BearCity 2 continues their story.

The film opens with the guys reuniting in Provincetown for Bear Week, a week-long celebration of all things bear. While there, Brent and Fred meet Victor and Roger (Stephen Lambeth), a couple who have been together for ten years and are getting ready to tie the knot. As Brent and Fred share the couple's excitement, they also begin to question the state of their own relationship.

Meanwhile, Michael is trying to make a name for himself in Hollywood but is having trouble getting work because of his size. He meets Tyler (James Martinez), a handsome personal trainer who is attracted to him but also has his own insecurities about his body. The two strike up a sweet and endearing romance, but both of them have to confront their own issues before they can move forward.

As the week progresses, the guys attend parties, drink, and dance the night away while exploring the sights and sounds of Provincetown. Along the way, they encounter a colorful cast of characters, including a drag queen, a leather daddy, and a group of twinks who think they are bears. The group even meets up with Kathy Najimy, a favorite guest star from the first film, who gives them a little guidance and words of encouragement.

The humor and wit in this movie are top-notch, and the writers are clearly aware of the culture of bear and gay communities. The scenes are full of feelings and emotions that the characters go through, and one cannot help but feel like a part of the story. The film is also successful in touching on issues of body image, ageism, and relationships while still maintaining a positive and optimistic outlook on life.
