Amy (Emma Roberts ) is an overconfident young college graduate who believes she is destined to be a famous poet, however she is ninety thousand dollars in student loan debt and her parents are tired of supporting her stunting poetry career and she is forced to get a job. She grudgingly gets a job at Adult World, a sex shop owned by an affable old lady (Cloris Leachman). There she meets and befriends Alex (Evan Peters ) the young manager and Rubia, a feisty transsexual (Armando Riesco). Intent on succeeding in her poetry career, Amy stalks down once famous poet Rat Billings. Billings, once the premier poet of the 90s, is now teaching poetry in Amy's town, where she finds him and forces him teaching her how to a great poet Directed by Scott Coffey, Adult World is a story about becoming an adult.
