Dr. Deepak lives in India in a small town with Thakur, his wealthy father. Thakur wants Deepak to marry a wealthy woman, but his son has fallen in love with Asha, a poor woman. Thakur tells Deepak to leave forever because he wants to marry Asha. Several months later Girdhari, Thakur's employee finds an abandoned child and wants to adopt him. Thakur does not want to deal with the child at first. After several years of Girdhari and Thakur's care, Pratap goes abroad to study to be a doctor.
