Mistaken identity becomes a running theme in Vishwanathan's life when he moves to Kochi, where he happens to look identical to the most well known criminal in the city. He is arrested on arrival, and goes on to lose his job and ruin his sister's marriage prospects because of the uncanny resemblance. Fed up with paying for someone else's crimes, Vishwanathan decides to fix the problem once and for all by murdering his criminal doppelganger.
