Hannah, an inexperienced young writer who rarely reads, joins a group of cynical writers for emotional support while she sends out her manuscript. Each member of the group seems to be failing as a writer, from Colette, the woman who constantly receives rejection letters, to John, the self-publishing author who has convinced himself that he can write the next big hit. Hannah becomes the envy of them all when she lands an agent and a book deal seemingly overnight. The members of the once-supportive group are now openly bitter towards Hannah and more determined than ever to get their writing noticed too.
