Caught in the Crossfire is a urban action crime drama that was written and directed by Brian A. Miller, featuring Chris Klein, Adam Rodriguez, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and Richard T. Jones. The story follows police officers Briggs (played by Chris Klein) and Shepherd (played by Adam Rodriguez), who have been assigned to investigate the murder of another police officer. As the cop was murdered in cold blood, Briggs in particular is very intent upon finding out who the perpetrator of the crime was since the murdered officer was a former partner of his. Briggs is also a very loose cannon, known for blowing up quite easily with a very bad temper. He has been on the force for a long time, and it shows. By all accounts, the other officers know that he could use a vacation. However, given the circumstances, that will not happen. His partner, Shepherd, follows the law to the letter, so they each have decidedly different working styles. Shepherd does not agree with entering houses without a warrant, and he believes in stopping the types of beat downs that his partner doles out without any thought in order to get needed information. This causes much conflict between the two officers and does nothing to get things done. However, Briggs is often the one who jumps in to take action, while Shepherd takes a quieter tack. For both, this can be good and bad, depending upon the situation. There are times when the way that Briggs works does a lot to manage the situation. Conversely, Shepherd's way can work to their favor in certain situations. Therefore, the two seem to balance each other out. As the story unfolds, we see both Briggs and Shepherd recount all of the events during interrogations from superiors. Each aspect of the crime is examined through the lens of an investigative point of view, which helps the officers determine which leads to follow.
