Nicholas Campbell is also excellent as the enigmatic hiker who the couple crosses paths with on the trail.

Backcountry is a gripping, edge-of-your-seat thriller that will leave audiences both chilled and emotionally invested. Although the film is often brutal and terrifying, it grounds its tension in the emotions of the characters, making it a journey that is all the more horrifying to endure.
