Bean is a funny movie about Mr. Bean(Rowan Atkinson)and his adventures when he comes to the United States under the guise of being an Art professor. Bean is a lazy, accident prone guard at a museum in England. The board of directors want to get rid of him, but the oldest member of the board likes Bean. Rather than fire him, they send him to the United States under the guise of "Dr. Bean" to present the Whistler's Mother painting in Los Angeles. David Langley(Peter MacNicol), the curator for the gallery meets Bean at the airport. Clueless at first, David really thinks he is an eccentric professor, but catches on that Bean has no idea what he is doing. Fearing that he will get fired from his job, David keeps it a secret of who Bean really is. Bean continues his antics by sabotaging an amusement park ride, getting arrested, and making David's family temporarily move out after breaking some keepsakes. David is left alone to handle Bean. When things could not get any worse, the painting of Whistler's Mother arrives. The painting itself is priceless, but to Bean it is just another painting. So when he sneezes of the painting, he thinks nothing of it and wipes it off. By the time Bean is frantically wiping it off he leaves a white mark on the painting. He knows he is in trouble. David sees the damage and freaks out. Bean knows he has really messed up and hatches a plan to "fix" the painting. He sneaks in the museum and after a series of fantastic tricks and dosing the security guard with laxatives; he makes an exact replica of the painting. It fools everyone when it is unveiled. David gets back with his family and Bean heads back to England.
