Big Buck Bunny is a computer animated short film about a gentle giant whose heart is as large as his body. Three mischievous rodents known as Frank, Rinky, and Gamera are infamous for harassing and terrorizing the animals of the forest for their own amusement. Big Buck Bunny goes for a stroll through the woods one day when the trio of rodents notice and begin to bully him, pelting him with fruits and nuts. Their tormenting of the docile Buck escalates when they kill two of his butterfly friends and use their wings to mock the bunny. Something deep down within Buck snaps upon the demise of his friends, and he sets aside his gentle and passive nature. Retreating into the depths of the forest, Buck concocts an elaborate and cartoony plan of revenge on his tormentors. Buck develops traps from vines, boulders and logs, and eventually lures Frank, Rinky, and Gamera into the woods. One by one, they meet swift and humorous justice, showing Buck's devious side as he gives the rodents a taste of their own medicine in a classic cartoon fashion. By the end of the story, Buck makes the forest a safe haven for everyone once again. His tormentors learn a valuable lesson in the end: don't mess with the quiet ones or your karma will catch up with you. Frank goes on to learn this lesson in spades. The visuals of Big Buck Bunny are completely computer generated and rendered in 3D, displaying a lush forest with bright colors, and unique designs for all of the main characters. Each character is expressive in their cartoony hijinks, and much attention is paid to small details such as Big Buck Bunny's bushy tail, Frank's bulbous eyes, and the swaying of trees and their leaves in the wind.
