In the superhero adventure Avengers: Endgame, the remaining Avengers regroup after the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War. Their world has changed, and only they can save it. They prepare to take on the powerful Thanos one last time. Avengers: Endgame ends the Marvel Avengers-based story arc that began with Iron Man back in 2008. The film opens a few weeks after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, in which Thanos caused half of humanity to disappear. In a rage, Thor puts an end to Thanos. Five years quickly pass, and the world has learned to cope with the new status quo. But when Ant-Man emerges from the quantum realm, the remaining Avengers develop a plan. They theorize that the quantum realm could make time travel possible. And if time travel is possible, it might be possible to change the past. And if it's possible to change the past, Thanos' apocalyptic actions could be reversed. Of course, carrying out the plan won't be easy. The Avengers will not only put their own lives at risk, the fate of the entire universe hangs in the balance. Avengers: Endgame earned $2.8 billion worldwide, making it the highest grossing film of all time (as of 2020). The film generally won over critics, too. Although the film is meant to be the end of the Avengers arc, Marvel and Disney have left open the possibility of including the Avengers characters in future films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even another Avengers movie is reportedly not out of the question.
