In the crime drama film Blue Story, two young men who were once friends become bitter enemies when they end up on opposite sides of a street gang war. The film is based on a popular YouTube series. Best friends Marco and Timmy would do almost anything for each other. But they live in different neighborhoods in London. When violent gangs instigate a war between the residents of the different neighborhoods, Marco and Timmy find themselves unwillingly becoming enemies. The film is written, directed and narrated by Andrew Onwubolu, who also goes by the name Rapman. Onwubolu based the story on his own experiences. He also grew up in London, and he was caught up in the gang war between the Peckham Boys and the Ghetto Boys. The film was originally released theatrically in the UK in November 2019. It was pulled from theaters when violence broke out where the film was playing in the city of Birmingham. It returned to theaters a few days later. It was intended to have a wider release early in 2020, but those plans were cancelled by the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, it was released as a premium on-demand film in the United States. The film has received mainly positive reviews from critics and audiences.
