Born to Race is a 2011 film directed by Alex Ranarivelo that tells the story of Danny Krueger, a troubled young man who wants nothing more in life than to be a race car driver, but has set himself upon a destructive path that involves trouble with his parents, as well as the law. After an accident street racing gets him in trouble with the police, Danny's mother realizes that she cannot control the rebellious teenager. After much consideration, she sends him to live with his estranged father, a retired race car driver who left Danny as a child to pursue a career in Nascar racing.

Shortly after beginning High School in his new town, Danny develops a rivalry with the the town rouge Jake Kendall. Jake claims to rule Danny's new neighborhood, and in order to earn status and fit in with the locals Danny will have to prove himself to Jake. When Jake suggests that Danny prove himself by trying to beat Jake in a race, the young man can't turn down the chance to race again.

Despite having trouble bonding with the father that left him, Danny decides to ask his father for help entering a drag race, and realizes that the two have more in common than he had originally thought. Eventually Danny realizes that putting aside the issues with his father may give him a chance to beat out his rival, and have the career of his dreams.
