An entertaining British comedy, Carlton-Browne of the F.O., focuses on the incompetent follies of an overseas agent, played by Terry-Thomas, who is assigned to renew diplomatic relations with the former British colony of Gaillardia. Gaillardia, ignored by the Motherland for nearly a half century, is sitting on vast mineral deposits, has garnered the interest of world superpowers, the United States and the Soviet Union. Good intentions to thwart an international crisis run amuck in the 86 minute film that features Peter Sellers, of the Pink Panther comedy series and Luciana Paluzzi, of James Bond fame, in supporting roles.
