Lily's new home in Cassadaga is an unusual place, known for its spiritualist community and its history of dark secrets. She quickly becomes fascinated with the town's spiritualist society and, in particular, with a young psychic named Mike (Kevin Alejandro). As Lily becomes more involved in the spiritualist community, she takes part in a séance in which she receives a message from a young blind girl named Ana (Avis-Marie Barnes). In doing so, she becomes caught up in a terrifying game of cat and mouse with a serial killer who has been preying on vulnerable young women in the town for years.
The movie is not just a horror flick but explores some darker themes such as grief and struggling with a disability. The cinematography is also very effective, with the eerie setting of Cassadaga creating an unsettling atmosphere throughout the movie.
Overall, despite not being a box office hit, Cassadaga is a well-crafted horror movie that delivers scares as well as an intriguing mystery. The strong performances from the cast and the excellent pacing make it a worthwhile watch for anyone interested in the horror genre.
