Chasing the Dragon is a 2017 crime thriller movie set in Hong Kong in the 1960s. Based on a true story, the movie is about the rise and fall of two notorious drug lords, Crippled Ho (played by Donnie Yen) and Lee Rock (played by Andy Lau). The movie begins with the arrival of Crippled Ho in Hong Kong, who is a small-time criminal trying to make a living. He soon meets a corrupt cop named Lee Rock, who takes him under his wing and introduces him to the world of crime. Together, they become unstoppable and take over the drug trade in Hong Kong. But as their power and influence grow, so does their enemies. In a dangerous game of cat and mouse, Crippled Ho and Lee Rock must fight to stay on top.

Donnie Yen is brilliant in his portrayal of Crippled Ho. He is tough, charismatic, and ruthless, but also has a soft side that shows when he falls for a young woman who works in a factory. As he rises through the ranks, he becomes more and more paranoid about his enemies and begins to trust no one, which ultimately leads to his downfall.

Andy Lau is equally impressive as Lee Rock. He is a corrupt cop who is more interested in money and power than justice. Lau's portrayal of the character is nuanced, as he manages to make the audience sympathize with him at times, even though he is one of the main antagonists of the movie.

One of the most impressive aspects of the movie is the attention to detail in the set design and costumes. The movie was set in the 1960s and the filmmakers did an excellent job of recreating the look and feel of that era. The cars, the architecture, and the fashion all look authentic and add to the overall atmosphere of the movie.

The action scenes in the movie are also top-notch. Donnie Yen, who is known for his martial arts skills, delivers some impressive fight scenes, but the filmmakers don't rely solely on action to tell the story. There are also intense scenes of suspense and drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Philip Keung also deserves a mention for his performance as a corrupt police officer who serves as a thorn in the side of Crippled Ho and Lee Rock. He brings a menace to the character that is palpable and makes him a formidable opponent.

Overall, Chasing the Dragon is an excellent crime thriller that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. The performances are strong, the action is thrilling, and the story is compelling. It is a must-watch for anyone who enjoys movies about the criminal underworld.

Chasing the Dragon is a 2017 action movie. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.7.
