Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon is a 2008 film that is based off the Chinese novel titled Romance of the Three Kingdoms. A man named Zhao Zilong starts a career in the military by enlisting in army. When in the army he becomes good friends with another solder named Luo Ping’an. Shortly after enlisting in the army he gets into a battle with Liu Bei’s rival Cao Cao. During this fight Liu Bei is overwhelmed by Cao Cao’s forces and he must retreat. During this event, he gets separated from his family. Zhao agrees to help track down and get Liu’s family. Zhao is first able to track down and rescue, Liu Bei’s infant son and he later fights his way through Cao Cao’s forces and charges after him. Zhao leaps on a cliff and escapes. Later on, he meets a girl and falls in love with her. Over time, Zhao continues to fight for Liu Bei and wins many battles. As a result he becomes known as the Invincible General. Zhao also becomes one of the Five Tiger Generals. Liu Bei eventually dies and Liu Shan takes over as the new ruler. Shortly after he takes over he decides to launch an offensive in order to restore the Han Dynasty. Zhao begins the offensive and runs into some obstacles. As a result him and his forces get separated during battle. However, he is able to confront Han De and slay the four sons of Han. With his forces having heavy casualties he realizes that his mission was to distract the Wei army so that Guan Xing and Zhang Bao can seize the territory of the enemy. Zhao engages in a duel with Cao Ying the granddaughter of Cao Cao and defeats her but lets her live. In the end Zhao and Luo Ping’an witness the battle from their base in Phoenix Heights. Luo confesses to Zhao that he was jealous of him because of him rising up the ranks of the military over the course of many years. Both men get back on peaceful terms and, Zhao then charges towards the enemy for the next battle.
