Watch Triad Wars

Triad Wars is about a series of gang wards that takes place when a powerful Hong Kong triad leader is losing his grip on his criminal empire. The triad leader finds that people around him are growing disloyal and in order to secure more respect and get people to follow him again he has to resort to escalating violence and more persuasive strategies for securing compliance.

This very violent movie features a lot of bloody carnage, it's a visual spectacle. A lot of treachery is involved, but beneath all the bloodshed, there is money that needs to be made. Double dealing happens all over and people everywhere are immensely corrupt in this film. There are a lot of heavy duty sword slashings and guns being fired wildly. While the dynamic arch of the film is certainly exaggerated, and even comical, it's interesting to watch what ends up taking place.

There are some intensely funny scenes in this movie and they provide some necessary relief from the pressure cooker environment that embroils the comings and goings of gangland triad leaders. There isn't a lot of character development but that isn't really the point of the film, it's more of a film that focuses on the bigger picture than the individual characters.

Triad Wars is a 2008 action movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 57 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.7.
