The year is 1868. Young Wong Fei Hung returns to Guangzhou, where his father was murdered years before. The city is caught in the middle of a war between two rival gang lords fighting for control of the docks. When one of the crime lords, Lei Gong, sees Fei in action, he recruits him to become an enforcer in his organization. Fei rises to become a trusted lieutenant in Gong's gang. However, he soon grows disenchanted with this life. Fei and his long time friend, Fiery decide the time has come to take down Gong's empire. They encourage others to rise against Gong and destroy his illegitimate businesses. Enraged by this treason, Gong decrees that Fei and Fiery must die. He sends his army after them to end the threat to his criminal empire.
