S.W.A.T. is an action-packed crime thriller from 2003 directed by Clark Johnson. The movie is based on a television series created by Robert Hamner and Rick Husky. The film features an ensemble cast, including Samuel L. Jackson, Colin Farrell, Michelle Rodriguez, LL Cool J, and Jeremy Renner. The story follows the Los Angeles Police Department's elite Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) team as they try to transport a notorious drug lord, Alex Montel (played by Olivier Martinez), to federal custody. The situation turns dire when Montel offers a $100 million reward to anyone who can free him. This offer draws the attention of a variety of criminal elements and puts the S.W.A.T. team in the crosshairs of several rival gangs, who all want a piece of the action.

The team is led by Lt. Dan "Hondo" Harrelson (played by Samuel L. Jackson), a veteran S.W.A.T. officer who is tasked with putting together a team of the best officers in the department. Among his recruits is Jim Street (played by Colin Farrell), a former S.W.A.T. officer who was demoted to the street patrol after an incident where he disobeyed orders. Hondo believes that Street still has what it takes to be a part of the team and gives him a chance to prove himself.

The team undergoes rigorous training, including psychological evaluations and physical tests, before they are ready for the mission. However, things quickly start to spiral out of control when Montel's younger brother arrives in Los Angeles with the intention of freeing him. In addition, Montel's girlfriend, a beautiful but ruthless Russian mercenary named Alex (played by Reg E. Cathey), decides to take matters into her own hands and attempts to infiltrate the team.

As the situation becomes more dangerous, the team must rely on their training and experience to stay alive. They face a variety of challenges, including car chases, shootouts, and negotiations with the criminals. The stakes are high, and the S.W.A.T. team must work together to ensure that Montel is safely delivered to federal custody.

Along the way, the team members face personal challenges, including Hondo's struggle to balance his loyalty to his team with his loyalty to the department, and Street's desire to prove himself to Hondo and his former S.W.A.T. teammates. The film also explores the dynamics between the different team members, highlighting their different backgrounds and personalities.

S.W.A.T. is a fast-paced, thrilling movie with plenty of action and suspense. The movie does an excellent job of balancing the action scenes with more character-driven moments, allowing the audience to connect with the team members on a deeper level. The performances are top-notch, particularly those of Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Farrell, who have excellent on-screen chemistry.

Overall, S.W.A.T. is an enjoyable action movie that is well worth watching. The film has a good mix of action, suspense, and character development that will keep the audience engaged from start to finish. If you're a fan of action movies, S.W.A.T. is definitely worth checking out.
