He takes on a new apprentice, Steve (Ben Foster), after his mentor and friend Harry (Donald Sutherland) is murdered. Steve is the son of one of Arthur's previous victims, and he seeks revenge against those responsible for his father's death. Arthur teaches Steve the tricks of the trade, including how to create fake accidents and cover up murders to make them appear natural. Steve is a quick learner, but his emotions get in the way of his work, causing Arthur to put him to the test with a difficult job. The two must assassinate a trio of international arms dealers in order to stop them from supplying weapons to terrorist organizations. As Arthur and Steve carry out their mission, they encounter unexpected obstacles, from betrayal to an uncontrollable chain of events that leads to a dangerous confrontation with their targets.
