Chicago Joe and the Showgirl is a 1990 crime drama. It is a British film directed by Bernard Rose. The screenplay was written by David Yallop. It is based on a 1944 imurder case that was known as the Cleft Chin Murder. Kiefer Sutherland and Emily Lloyd star in the movie. Sutherland plays an American GI named Karl Hulten involved with the black market in London. He becomes involved with an eccentric stripper named Betty Jones (Lloyd). Betty lives in a fantasy world because of her passion for film noir and gangster movies. Hooking up with Karl provides the opportunity to make her fantasies a reality.
