In the action-packed movie Crying Freeman from 1995, we are introduced to Yo Hinomura, a Japanese artist who turns out to be a highly skilled assassin known as "Crying Freeman". Hinomura does not choose this path on his own, but rather one day he is approached by the Chinese mafia known as the 108 Dragons, who kidnap him, hypnotize him, and turn him into a killing machine.

As Crying Freeman, Hinomura is equipped with incredible martial arts skills, and he is an expert in the use of the long-range weapon of choice - a gun. Throughout the film, we see Hinomura complete multiple assassination jobs for the 108 Dragons, before coming into contact with his next target, Emu O'Hara played by Julie Condra.

Emu is a talented and resolute ceramic artist who becomes entangled in an assassination plot when her father is targeted. When her father is killed, Emu becomes the next target of the 108 Dragons to ensure that she does not reveal any information to the authorities about her father's murder.

Although Hinomura is supposed to complete the job of assassinating Emu, he finds himself drawn to her and the two eventually become lovers. The two are then relentlessly pursued by the 108 Dragons, with Hinomura fighting off enemies left and right in some of the most intense fight scenes in the movie.

Adding to the complexity of the plot, the film also features a complicated and twisted relationship between the leader of the 108 Dragons, played by Kevan Ohtsji, and his wife, played by Debbie Podowski. Their relationship is fraught with betrayal and secrecy, and it is unclear who can be trusted.

In addition to the intricate relationships and action-packed scenes, Crying Freeman also features incredible artistic direction and cinematography. The film's costume design combines traditional samurai culture with modern fashion, giving the characters a unique and eye-catching appearance.

The film's music, composed by Patrick O'Hearn, complements the visuals exceptionally well, adding an additional layer of drama and tension to the scenes. Overall, the film is an excellent blend of action, romance, and drama.

Despite being released over 20 years ago, the film still holds up well today. The fight scenes are well choreographed and intense, and the storyline keeps the viewer engaged from start to finish. The lead actors, Mark Dacascos and Julie Condra, both give strong performances, and the film's supporting cast does an excellent job of bringing their characters to life.

In conclusion, Crying Freeman is an action-packed film that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. The movie features a complex storyline, excellent performances, and stunning visuals that make it a must-see for fans of action movies.
