Dear Wife is a 1949 comedy. The story is about a young teenage girl named Miriam Wikins and her brother-in-law Bill Seacroft. He is a middle-aged war veteran who is frustrated in his career at a local bank. Adding to his trouble is the fact that he and his wife have to live with her parents. Miriam decides to help Bill by trying to get him elected to the State Senate. She campaigns for him without his knowledge. Things become complicated when he is chosen to run against Judge Wilkins, his father-in-law. Judge Wilkins is angry that Miriam is supporting Bill over him in the election.
